Sick Days

Yesterday was aweful! I don't know if Bella is teething or if she picked something up in the nursery on Sunday, but she was miserable and unconsolable yesterday. Her nose was running non-stop and of course she screamed whenever I tried to wipe it. She didn't want to do anything but be held as I walked around. I didn't even try to put her down to sleep. We did make it to the Fort Worth Running Co to pick up our Zoo Run packets where she was of course a perfect angel and made a liar out of me when I said she'd been grumpy. But that's okay, I'd rather have her happy in public. Last night even Daddy couldn't make her happy and usually him coming home is the highlight of her day. We finally got her down for the night around 9:00. She slept through the night so that was good and she seems better today. Still has a runny nose, but not as bad and happier. She slept through most of our walk this AM so that was good. Things are looking up! Still no sign of teeth, but they have to be coming soon.

We tried apples today and really liked them. I wonder if she could taste them with her nose being all messed up?

Battle of the Wills

Today has been a battle of the wills. Bella won round one at nap time. Let's hope mom wins round two at bedtime.

We've been eating bananas for the last few days and really seem to like them. We've started peas too, but I got them a little thick so I'm having to mix some formula with them because, of course, I've already thrown out the pea juice.

Went to the Zoo

Bella and I went to the zoo with our friends Cari, Lauren and Grant. We had a great time! I think Bella had more fun watching all the people than the animals, but that's okay. :) Kids are the best at making you feel like a million bucks! Cari was having trouble with one of her hands so I offered for Grant to hold one of my hands while I pushed the stroller with the other. A couple times I got distracted and I would hear this little "Aunt Robyn!" and there would be Grant right next to me with his hand up ready to take mine. Makes my heart melt! We had to get pictures with the live giraffes and elephants since that is what our lovies are.

Grant and Lauren shared their bird food with us.
Beautiful reflection in the new MOLA exhibit.
The sky was clear blue, hardly a cloud in the sky and it started to rain. Grant and Lauren were having a hard time not getting to see Bella because of her rain cover so they found a way around it. :)
Peek-A-Boo!

We tried our first fruit yesterday, strawberries (is avacado a fruit?).They didn't go over very well. I can't decide if it is because I was serving them cold or if she just doesn't like them. How can you not like strawberries? I mixed them with her cereal this morning and they went over a little better.

Easter at the Ranch

We went to the Ranch in Brownwood this weekend to spend Easter with Gran and Pa Pa. It was actually kinda nice to have them all to ourselves so we could all be spoiled! :) On Saturday we went for a jeep ride around the ranch to see the place, the new tank, the new dock on the new tank, the grand kids' goldfish (we're not sure, but we don't think they are in their little pond any more, Shhhhh), and check on the cows and longhorns.

Bella did such a good job. She was in such a good mood despite the fact that she was exhausted from not having had an afternoon nap. She liked to watch Pa Pa drive the best.

It is tradition that all the grand kids take their baths in the big kitchen sinks when they are at the Skeet Range so Bella had to be indoctrinated this weekend.

This morning we went to church with Gran and she was so excited to have us there. So was everyone else it seems. So many people in that church have been praying for Bella it was neat for them to get to see how she's growing. She was so good during the church service. She got to stay in the service with us until the very last. Of course it probably helped having her friends in the pew behind her making faces. :)

First Cart Ride

We went to Target and rode in the cart without our seat for the first time today. Does she have a precious grin or what? I think this picture is contest worthy!
I figured out today that you can actually get green beans too fine for baby food. I was using the blade with smallest holes in my food mill and kept thinking it wasn't working right because only water was coming through. Then I switched to the next size up and amazingly it produced the right consistency. Amazing how the right blade makes all the difference! Silly, Mommy! :)

Beans

I wish I had taken a picture, but we ventured to pinto beans yesterday for dinner and I got them a little thick. When I gave Bella a spoon full they stuck to the roof of her mouth and it looked like she had bean teeth. It was the funniest thing! Needless to say, Mom, is diluting them in the future. Bella is such a good sport!
