Swinging

Yesterday when we went on our walk we stopped at the neighborhood park to swing. I was so excited and proud because she was swinging and enjoying it and then I realized that she swings all the time at the house in her infant swing. Silly Mommy!

It's not really that cold in TX, but the mornings have been cool so I've been bundling her her up in her "snowsuit" for our walks.

New Expriences

It's a good thing Bella is such an easy going baby because she has been put to the test the past few days with several firsts. Friday we went to watch the Baylor game at our friends' house and they have a new dog. Bella hasn't been around a dog before so she was quite intrigued. Here are some pictures of her reactions.

Saturday we gathered the grandchildren at the Botanical Gardens in Ft. Worth to take photos in their Easter clothes. We were just thankful to get Bella in the photos we didn't push our luck by expecting her to actually look at the camera. She did really well, but you can see that she did have a melt down or two.

Last but not least we tried Zucchini today. She is not a picky eater. So far she's eaten everything we've given her very well and today was no exception. I have to say that I wasn't sure how this homemade baby food was going to work out, but it has turned out to be so easy and CHEAP! Oh my goodness!

Growing and Growing

It is hard to believe how fast Bella is growing. I'm looking back as I work on her scrapbook and I can't believe the drastic difference. She's sitting in her high chair to eat solids like cereal, green beans, carrots, avocado, sweet potato and doesn't fit on my lap anymore when she is drinking a bottle. I don't know where the time has gone and I am even lucky enough to be home with her all day.

Yesterday we had two doctors' appointments. First went to get her last Synagis shot and I finally figured out that the bottle right after the shot is the way to go. Of course with all the changes it probably won't work the next time she has to get a shot. Her second doctor's appointment was to check out her diaper rash again. She weighed in at 15lb 12oz and 25"long. Dr. Tom said her food seems to be going through her system so quickly that there are still enzymes and they are irritating her bottom. Thank goodness she has the Harris metabolism! :)

Too Cool!

Now that Bella is older, she is riding in her stroller without her car seat so she is bothered more by the sun when we go on our walks. This evening we decided to try a pair of sunglasses on her. She was just too cute to resist! She wasn't sure what to think about them at first, but then she decided they were fine and wore them like a champ!

Special Visitor & "I'll Do It Myself"

Aunt Bekah made a surprise visit this week and we had a grand time! We can't wait for her to visit again! She and Mommy had some much needed girl time!

"I will feed myself the green beans thank you!" We've now tasted cereal, green beans, carrots and broccoli. Making my own baby food has been a lot easier than I thought and it makes Grant and I eat more vegetables so we have some for Bella. I bought a food mill and am having trouble figuring out how to use it. Surely Grant and I can get it figured out eventually!

Family Time

On Wednesday we had family night. Gran was here and Melinda and her kids came over for dinner. It is always so much fun watching everyone with Bella. She loves to interact with people. I think we'll have quite the socialite on our hands.

Gran and I went shopping for Bella and got this cute hat for when we go to the beach this summer. She didn't even seem to mind it. I hope that is still true come June.

Looking Back & Looking Forward

I was going through some of the clothes Bella has outgrown & found this favorite preemie outfit. Can you believe the difference?! I sent some of the others to the hospital with Grant and Bella's NICU doctor told me at church the next week that she saw some of the outfits that she knew were Bella's because she remembered them.
This past weekend our friends Robb, Rebecca and Teegan came to visit us. Bella loved the entertainment!

Watch Me Grow

This Bella in her car seat right before she came home from the hospital.
This is Bella last week in her car seat. Wow! What a difference! We also tried fresh green beans last night. I steamed them and then put them through the food mill for her. We didn't get any pictures, but she didn't seem to mind them. She didn't eat a whole lot, but got a good tasting. I am going to try and make all my own baby food. We'll see how that goes.
