Well Cared For

It is so sweet to see Bella's cousins with her. They are so good to her! Lauren is going to be a great Mommy one day. She spent the evening taking care of Bella. Holding her, feeding her (as you can see in the picture), getting her room ready for her to go to bed and so many other things.

Pretty Face

I was trying to get a good picture of Grant and Bella at the restaurant where we were eating tonight, but Grant got embarrassed and made me put the camera away, but I did manage to get this beautiful picture.

Snow Day

Bella's first year has been the year of snow. As if I needed another reason to love being home, it was so awesome to sit and watch the snow falling with Bella. 10" and still snowing, can you belive it?

Grandpa Time

Saturday Grandpa came over to help Grant map out a shed so of course he carved out some time for, Bella. I guess Grant really wore him out because he fell asleep with her.

Let the Drama Begin

At her last doctor's visit she got a shot and we saw the beginnings of a drama queen! Of course after her shot, Bella, started screaming and proceeded to scream for at least 15 min. until the Dr. came in and then she broke into the biggest smile you've ever seen. Thinking that the worst was over we relaxed as the Dr. started her examination. Well, evidently Bella does not like things in her ears because she immediately started screaming again when the Dr. went to look into them. This time even the Dr. couldn't get her to stop so she took Bella out into the nurses area and had everyone talk to Bella to get her to calm down while I checked out. Nothing worked. While she was taking her around she kept asking people if they remembered Grant Harris who used to work in the Pulmonary clinic when he was a Child Life Specialist and that this was his daughter. The general consensus was that since Grant was the expert he should have been the one there to "prepare" her for what was to come.

Rodeo

Week before last Grant and I took Bella to the Stockshow. She was facinated by it all. We went to the actual rodeo on Tuesday night, but they were cleaning the barns and we didn't get to see very many of the animals so we went back on Saturday and got to see more. Of course we would wait to go through the barns until it was freezing outside, but Bella stayed nice and warm as you can see. I'm really disappointed because I missed a perfect photo opportunity. Bella actually fell asleep in Grant's coat like that, but I thought I could wait until we got to the car to take the picture. Of couse she woke up before we got there. Oh well, you get the gist of it.

We had a wonderful time in MN visiting with the Garvin clan. We had plenty of snow and frigid temperatures. Here is a picture of me "sliding", as they call it in MN, on my rear. My brother Matt was our gingerbread man maker. He made them from a vegan recipe he and Katy had. They tasted just like cookies made from my mother's recipe.
Bella was the belle of the ball. Everyone enjoyed playing with her and she loved the attention. Ben got in lots of practice for when he and Beth have kids.
Bella also found plenty of ways to get some good sleep, but during the day! I'm so glad she's a snuggler!
Ben and Beth borrowed a swing and it was Bella's favorite activity. She was enthralled with the mobile and fell asleep every time we started the swing which is probably why she didn't sleep at night.
