Ultra Sound Update

Here is the morning update from Grant:

We just had an ultra sound and baby looks good. We love all of the concern and please keep the prayers coming. We do ask for no visitors at this time. Nature must do its work and a quiet environment is best.

Thank you again for your love and prayers. All the best.

Doing Better

Hi everyone. Grant said that Mom and baby are doing better, and that Robyn's blood pressure has dropped some.

I am thankful to report that the sweet baby girl is still inside her Mommy's tummy. As much as I can't wait to meet her, I would much rather let the bean {as Robyn would say} stay right where she is for now.

New Update 2:45 PM

Grant just sent this new update:

Robyn is doing better. Blood pressure is still high. They have backed off the 24 hours and will play it by ear.

Please Pray for Robyn and Baby

This is Cari, one of Grant and Robyn’s friends.

They have been trying to get Robyn’s blood pressure down for over 24 hours without success so they started steroid shots for the baby’s lung development. We expect to meet the sweet baby girl within the next 24 hours. Due to the circumstances, doctors are requesting Robyn not have any visitors at this time. More likely than not the sweet baby will be moved next door to Cook Children’s Hospital and Robyn will stay at Harris Downtown. Grant plans on sending me updates to keep everyone updated through the blog as soon as there is more information. This will be the easiest way for everyone to have updates and allow Grant to focus on Robyn and the baby. Feel free to leave comments here that Grant and Robyn can read at a later date.

Summer Time

So the summer has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. I expected to wear down a little in July, but not really have trouble until August. I am exhausted already and I'm swelling like a blimp! I try and keep my feet up as much as possible, but when I do that I fall asleep. It's kinda hard to do your job when you're asleep!:) Everyone has been great about it, but I am starting to feel like I'm slacking a bit. I'm sure that working three weeks straight with out a weekend is making it a lot harder too.

I mentioned that I am swollen. My feet are so swollen that when I went to a wedding with Grant last weekend I could only find one pair of shoes out of my whole closet that would fit and that was because they had a buckle that I could let all the way out. My camp sandles weren't quite appropriate. :)

Grant's been super sweet. He lets me rest and has been helping around the house and talks to the baby at night. He is already so smitten! :)

We bought the baby furniture. The bed is a conversion bed that will make a toddler bed and then a full bed and then we have a dresser that we will also use for a changing table. It's beautiful! I can't wait to get the bedding and everything so we can start putting things together.

It's a Girl!

We found out today that we're having a girl! We are very excited! Not only that she seems healthy, but because we were having trouble with boy names. Now we don't have to worry about it! :)

Usually when we try and see or listen to her she is moving around so much it's hard to pin her down. Today we actually had to wake her up to see anything. Maybe she's going to be a late sleeper like her mother! ha! She was very cooperative after we woke her and we were able to see almost right away.

Thank you for sharing our good news with us!

Like I was afraid of I haven't been very diligent about keeping up with this blog, but I thought I'd bring you up to date.

I have officially left the morning sickness stage. Thank goodness for that. I am definitely feeling better this trimester. Lots more energy. I'm not really overly hungry which is good since I gained a little too much the first trimester. I have started showing and I'm officially in pregnancy clothes.

I went to the doctor on Monday and we listened to the heartbeat. It was 160 beats/min. Of course the bean was moving around so much it was hard to keep track of it. Like I said before it looks like we have a little Grant on our hands. Grant and I go back next Monday to hopefully find out the sex of the baby. I can't wait!

I felt the baby move a little bit the other day. It was just that little flutter. But I haven't felt anything since.

Our little friend Haven (Katy & Mike's son) has been thinking a lot about the baby. He decided one day that the baby was getting fed by eating my crumbs. When I told him about the "cord" that goes from the baby's belly button to me he thought that was gross, but the next time he brought it up he was talking about the cord that feeding the baby. Then He informed me that we were going to have to buy baby toys and that he would share some of his but he was going to be right there so when "she" (his choice of words) put the toy in "her" mouth he could snatch it right out. He has also decided that he is going to teach "her" to walk. When I said it might be a while before he could do that he said no, he would just teach "her" while I was out of the room and then I would come back in and she would be standing there. Sounds like he's going to be a very hands on "Big Brother." It's been very fun to share this experience with him.

I don't know what it is about being pregnant, but all of a sudden the kids that wouldn't give me the time of day are talking my ear off and wanting to spend all kinds of time with me. I can't say I mind. It's nice to be wanted! :)

Well, I guess that's about it for now. Hopefully I'll be posting again soon.
